The Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (EDSPHCDA) held a review meeting on Monday, 6th July 2026, at the John Odigie Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA), Benin City, with EDSPHCDA Administrative Officers from the headquarters and all the 18 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Edo State.

The meeting was organized to review the recently completed Primary Health Care (PHC) staff verification exercise, harmonize staff records, discuss administrative issues affecting staff at both the LGA and headquarters levels, and strengthen the capacity of Administrative Officers through training on their roles, responsibilities, and best administrative practices.

The meeting was attended by the Agency’s Directors, including the Director, Essential Drugs and Logistics, Pharmacist Eruaga Valentine; the Director, Disease Control and Immunization, Dr. Eseigbe Efeomon; the Director, Community and Family Health, Dr. Idemudia Osayomore; and the former Executive Secretary, EDSPHCDA Professor Mrs. Otaneyenuwa Obarisiagbon and all EDSPHCDA Admin Officers.


In their separate remarks, the Directors highlighted the vital role of the Administration Department in ensuring the effective delivery of Primary Health Care services across the state. They encouraged Administrative Officers to remain professional, uphold high ethical standards, and adopt best practices in the discharge of their duties.
They also emphasized the importance of teamwork, effective communication, and proper staff attendance management.
Speaking at the meeting, the Acting Director of Administration, Mr. Segun Bello, expressed appreciation to the Executive Secretary EDSPHCDA, Dr. Coulson Oahimire Osoikhia, for his relentless support throughout the staff verification exercise. He also expressed gratitude to the Directors for support and encouragement throughout the exercise while commending all the Admin Officers for their dedication, commitment, and hard work, urging them to continue working together to build a more responsive, efficient, and effective Admin Department.

The meeting also featured a presentation of the verified staff database, highlighting key achievements recorded during the verification exercise, as well as operational challenges that were identified. Participants engaged in productive discussions on practical solutions to address the identified gaps and reviewed key administrative responsibilities aimed at strengthening workforce management and improving the overall efficiency of the Agency.
